It’s January and that means it’s time for one of the largest conventions in the world to take place. Over 150,000 tekkies are about to make their way to Sin City for CES, the Consumer Electronics Expo.
Here’s a couple episodes of my favourite segments from The Conventioneers at CES!
If you’ve come across my site because you just saw myself and my partner Matt Chin in the finals for the Comedy Network’s EXPOSED contest, thanks for visiting.
All I can say is that we were VERY VERY VERY surprised at the results of the finale as well.
You can watch us compete in the finale by CLICKING HERE (we’re act #5).
Feel free to share your thoughts on the finale with me on Twitter @AgnewJason or via email at [email protected]
Here were our initial entries for the contest, we thought it was pretty clever to create a storyline as opposed to a one off video. If you’ve seen the finale then you know we continued that storyline into our stage performance.
Mickie James is one of my favourite female wrestlers of all time and I had the chance to chat with the former WWE Womens & Divas Champion and TNA Knockouts Champion at the Hammer Town Comic Con this past weekend. We chatted about her current contract status, the amazing character she played when leaving TNA and her WWE run as the crazy “superfan” of Trish Stratus… oh and I got back to my old “Conventioneering” ways as I tried flirt as much as possible!
Since you’re on my website, you probably know I have a bit of a fondness for professional wrestling. It was something I liked when I was a kid, and then for some reason it found it’s way back into my life when I was in University, and it actually led me to my first job in the industry as an intern on a little radio show called “The LAW: Live Audio Wrestling”.
Well, The LAW has been going strong for 15+ years now, and is North America’s leading pro-wrestling and mixed martial arts radio show… and somewhere over the past 14 years I managed to move my way up the ladder to now be the lead host on the show. You can find that show on Sunday nights from midnight – 2am on TSN 1050 and SiriusXM Channel 167.
Along with that, LiveAudioWrestling.com also has a series of podcasts, and recently I jumped into doing one of these myself. Each week, I take a look at the WWE’s “NXT” program, which is essentially the show the company uses to develop young wrestlers. To go along with the theme of “developing new talent”, I’m joined on this weekly podcast by The LAW’s newest member Braden Herrington. He joined our staff right out of college in the fall of 2011.
The show also includes a whole bunch of anecdotes about our lives and industry talk… oh and odds are a detailed breakdown of some sort of drunken karaoke story that has taken place in the past week. You can download episodes at LiveAudioWrestling.com
Well the producers of the @PerfectWeekends Travel reports heard about my addiction to karaoke and decided to write me a song to round out the travel report segments this summer. So here’s a little response to The Tragically Hip song “Bobcaygeon”… except I’m nowhere near as cool as Gord Downie!
