Perhaps the punniest show we’ve ever done, Matt and I found ourselves in Las Vegas so we decided to hit up The Show Convention. This was actually the first stop on our Conventioneers summer tour, and wow was it every disappointing. It turns out the people who work in the shoe industry really aren’t that exciting, who woulda guessed?
But we brought some excitement to their day, plus add in a splash of Gayson Fagnew + Matthieu… and everybody came out of this looking like footwear fashionistas!
We were on our Conventioneers summer tour, in which we hit up 8 conventions in 14 days… and this one just happened to be going while we were in Las Vegas waiting to go to The Cosmo Show, so we figured we’d stop in and cause a little bit of trouble.
This is one of those trade shows where we had to bring some life into a very very stale day at The Las Vegas Convention centre… and we did!
Over the 7 seasons we’ve been doing The Conventioneers, Matt and I have tried to make it to Okotberfest in Kitchener about 3 times and each time we’ve run into complications with weather, double bookings, or some other weird life event.
Well in 2012, we made it out mission to get there. Oktoberfest management knew exactly who we were and surprisingly they still let us in!
Ladies get ready to be jealous of sexy legs, lederhosen, and some skills you wish you had!
When looking for Conventions to attend for this series, I try to find ones that have some ecclectic personalities and colourful characters, thus I thought Rollercon would be a good fit.
The behind the scenes story on this one is that the convention was happy to have us, and we were greeting by a very pleasant Roller-representative, so pleasant in fact I could immediately tell she was slightly crazy, and thus ready to snap on us at anytime… and she did.
Although we weren’t kicked out of this one, we got pretty close by the end of it. Apparently despite the innuendoes in all of their team names and nicknames, they dont much like being compared to porn title… who would have guessed?
One of the coolest things about working on a show like The Conventioneers (aside from making cosplayers very angry), is that I get to travel to very bizarre places that I would never dream of going to if I wasn't doing this show.
The first time this occurred is when I got to travel to Roswell, New Mexico for the UFO Festival (you can see that episode at YouTube.com/ConventioneersTV) but this past year we also got to travel to LA, Vegas, Indianapolis, Missoula Montana (more on that debaulcle later), and our most bizarre stop Metropolis, Illinois a town of 6500 people, but due to the name of the town claim to be the "Home of Superman".
So every June the town is bombarded by hicks and geeks alike for their annual "Superman Celebration". As you can tell by my description this was a "must stop" for The Conventioneers, and the results of that trip are contained in our episodes below:
As you may know I produce / write / host a show called The Conventioneers. The show airs on BITE TV in Canada and MAV TV in the USA, plus all of our episodes are also on our new YouTube page at YouTube.com/ConventioneersTV
Our first two episodes this year were filmed in Los Angeles at VIDcon, a convention that centres around the YouTube and video blogging culture, you can check them out below.
Welcome to my vanity project entitled JasonAgnew.com and thanks for stopping by.
For those of you that don’t know me, I’m a TV + Radio host and producer based in Toronto, Canada. I do a variety of different shows for different companies or different networks. So I figured that this website would be a central location where I can post up all of the stuff I do and where you can find me… in case you find me the least bit entertaining.
I manged to get away from the Canadian winter by travelling down south and knocking on some doors to give away cash! Check out the Hallandale Beach episode of my travelling game show Door to Door!
